Tessellated tile floors have a long and interesting tradition. The use of tessellated floors in Victorian architecture was the result of technological developments from the middle of the 19th century. Today we see a revival of architecture in these patterns from the 18th & 19th Century for the use of terrace entrances, verandah’s, and traditional bathroom floors, and commercial spaces.
At Pavé Tile Co, we do a range of traditional tessellated tiles with designs such as Norwood borders, Oxley checkerboard or octagon patterns- all of which come in a variety of colours. We also have a range of Victorian inspired porcelain tiles, and Federation look tiles that emulate original tessellated designs.
